Overview
Southern Startups is a directory of the startup ecosystem of southern Spain. This page explains what data is collected when you use the site and how it is handled. We aim to be minimal: no advertising, no data brokering, no tracking without consent.
Vercel Web Analytics
This site uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless. Vercel derives a visitor identifier from a one-way hash of the incoming IP address, user-agent string, and a daily salt. No persistent identifier is stored on your device, and the raw data is discarded after 24 hours. No consent is required because no cookie or fingerprint is retained.
Google Analytics 4
With your consent, this site loads Google Analytics 4 (property G-2XCZ071CWV). It sets the cookies _ga, _ga_*, and _gid to distinguish visitors and sessions. Google Analytics 4 is loaded under Consent Mode v2 with analytics_storage: denied by default; the signal is updated to granted only after you accept analytics cookies. If you do not consent, the GA4 script does not load and no request is made to Google servers.
Microsoft Clarity
With your consent, this site loads Microsoft Clarity (project xvi9896xy2), a session replay and heatmap tool. Clarity sets two first-party cookies on this domain: _clck (persists your Clarity user ID) and _clsk (connects page views into a single session recording). It also sets third-party cookies on Microsoft domains, including CLID and MUID on clarity.ms and bing.com. Withdrawing consent immediately removes _clck and _clsk; the Microsoft-domain cookies expire on their own schedule. Clarity has no consent-mode equivalent, so the script does not load at all until you accept analytics cookies — it is not contacted until then.
How to change or withdraw consent
Click Cookie preferences in the footer of any page to review or change your choices at any time. Withdrawing analytics consent immediately deletes the analytics cookies from your browser. Because the session-replay script (Clarity) runs in the current page once loaded, collection on that page ends at the next navigation — no forced reload is applied.
Directory data
The startup, venture, and ecosystem entries in this directory are compiled from publicly cited sources: company registrations, official announcements, press releases, and the organisations' own websites. Each entry cites its sources. No personal data is collected from the entities listed.
